  MathPractice Instructions

To begin practicing addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division of whole
numbers with MathPractice, follow these steps:

  1. Open MathPractice and a math problem will appear.
  2. Handwrite your answer in the problem cell(s) provided. Write one digit per cell.

    If ink does not appear when you write your answer, select the Pen tool from the toolbar.

    TIP: You can adjust the answer cell size by going to View Menu and then selecting the preferred Size option.
  3. If you write the correct answer, then a smiley face will appear and the next problem will appear automatically.
  4. If you write the incorrect answer, then any cell(s) with an incorrect digit(s) turn red and display the recognized value.

  5. You can overwrite red cells with the correct answer. Or, choose the Eraser tool, which will then clear the incorrect cells and you can then write the correct answer.

  6. MathPractice keeps track of correct answers and your score is displayed in the bottom right corner. As the level of difficulty increases, more points are rewarded.

  7. You can write anywhere outside the cells. These marks will disappear once you change problems and are not used to determine if your answer is correct. You may use the Pen tool to manually check your math, carry digits, or handwrite notes as you work. Here is an example of Casting out 9s to check work manually.
